Penn Charter has named former Malvern Prep assistant and La Salle College great Conor Resch as its boys’ lacrosse coach, athletic director Mike Brooks said.

Resch spent the last four years working at Malvern Prep as an assistant coach. In that time the Friars won two Inter-Ac League championships and this year claimed the Inter-Ac Tournament title. The 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic.
Resch played four years as a defenseman at Yale and was a part of the team that won three consecutive Ivy League Championships.
At La Salle he was a Second-Team All-Phillylacrosse pick as a senior in 2013 when he helped the Explorers win the PIAA championship. Resch also was All-EPLCA and All-Catholic League as a senior. Resch also played football at La Salle.
The hiring of Resch connects two generations to Penn Charter. His father, Tony, a recent USA Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee, was a Penn Charter standout player and head coach from 1991-2001 before Pat McDonough took over the program and served as head coach until this spring. Also, Conor Resch’s uncle, Hank Resch, played at Penn Charter and was an assistant coach for several years.
Resch holds a B.A. in Psychology from Yale.
At Malvern Prep, Resch taught courses in algebra, calculus, geometry and psychology. Prior to his time at Malvern, Conor taught algebra at the TECH Freire Charter High School in Philadelphia.
