Honoree Questions:
How do you define leadership? “I define leadership as being able to take calculated risks while doing what is best for the team. To be a leader you need to connect with everyone on a personal level and push them to be the best version of themself. I feel the combination of having a competitive nature and leading by example makes everyone around you want to work harder to achieve the team’s goals. I was fortunate to have some great leaders as teammates during my Freshman and Sophomore years to learn from and I try to use their example every day to help my teammates the way they did me.”
How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “I make sure that I have good time management and put academics before anything else. By making sure I get everything done in the classroom, it frees up time to focus on my two favorite activities, service and athletics.”
What are your future goals? “My hope next year is for my team to make it further into post season play and win the PAC. After High School, I’m very excited to continue playing lacrosse collegiately at Canisius University where I will major in Finance/International Business. I plan to do everything I can to have a big impact on the field, great success in the classroom and make a significant contribution to my new community.”
