Honoree Questions:

How do you define leadership? “I define leadership as a set of behaviors or actions that positively influence a group of people. This includes all aspects and qualities you may utilize in order to achieve a common goal. In my experience as a Captain of 2 varsity sports teams and President of the National Business Honor Society, I have tried to put this into practice by treating my teammates and classmates with respect and by showcasing a strong work ethic on the field and in the classroom.”

How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “I balance everything by setting goals and planning out each day. When I wake up in the morning I write out lists of things I have to do and make sure those things help me achieve my goals. Staying focused can be hard so allowing myself to take time for myself and do something I love helps me concentrate. There’s nothing that pushes me to be great more than my family and inner drive to perfection.”
What are your future goals? “My future goals are to set myself up as best as I can in order to be happy. Whether that takes extra years of schooling, sacrificing things I don’t want to, or stepping out of my comfort zone. As a focused and driven individual, I can always see the light at the end of the tunnel no matter how dark it may get.”
