Team Attack won the High School Summit Division championship at the Lake Placid Summit (N.Y.) by going 5-0, capped by a 9-5 win over Team 91 LI 2024 Wolfpack in the title game.
Team Attack featured a number of Philly players, including Malvern Prep’s Lucca, Peri, and Roman DiBartolomeo, Brennan Krause, and Ryan Traynor, Springside Chestnut Hill’s Ross Prince and Hayes Schreiner, Lower Merion’s Aidan Friedman (team associate and intern for HEADstrong), and Haverford School’s Ben McCarthy.
HEADstrong created the Attack Cancer team to help raise fundraising efforts for the Foundation. Each player raised $300 or more to be a part of the team and players from multiple states in the class of 2024 then competed in the tournament this week and won the championship. In all, the squad raised over $46,000 for the Foundation.
“The experience at Lake Placid was a great time,” said 2024 LSM Lucca DiBartolomeo, a cancer survivor and USA Lacrosse All-American for the Inter-Ac Tournament champion Friars. “The amazing town and spending time with my teammates was awesome.
