Dan Wigrizer, a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American at Haverford School who was the starting freshman goalie on Duke’s 2010 national championship team, will be inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

The 25th Annual Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 27 at Rodeph Shalom, Philadelphia. For more information, visit phillyjewishsportsevent.org to buy a ticket.
Wigrizer played in 58 career games at Duke, going 36-18. He finished with a 9.43 goals against average and a .517 save percentage. He became the sixth goalie in NCAA history to help his team to a NCAA title as a freshman when Duke defeated Notre Dame, 6-5, in overtime. He also was a member of the 2013 championship team but did not play in the NCAA tourney due to an injury, Wigrizer also was a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Wigrizer had perhaps his best season as a junior when he earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament honors and helped the Blue Devils reach the NCAA Final Four. He started 14 games and posted a 8.94 goals-against average and a .516 save percentage. He m Made 12 saves in the NCAA Tournament first-round win over Syracuse.
At Haverford School, Wigrizer was named an All-American in 2008 and 2009 and helped lead the Fords to a share of the Inter-Ac League title and also to the Inter-Ac tournament crown in 2009. He also was named an Under Armour All-American.
The Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame class includes Wigrizer, Tal Brody, Larry Rosen, Jamie Schneck, Larry Shane, and Whitney Tucci. In addition, our award recipients are the Pillar of Achievement: Kenny Holdsman, Philadelphia Spirit Award: Jeremy Treatman, Simcha Gersch Award: Steve Goldman, and the Legacy Award Honorees: Morris “Mo” Arnovich and Inky Lautman.
