Mason Montrella scored in overtime tonight to lift Radnor past Springfield-Delco, 6-5, in a key Central League boys’ lacrosse game.
Springfield rallied from a 5-3 deficit to eventually tie it, 5-5, on a Sean Donaldson goal with 4:52 to play. The defenses locked down until Cooper Mueller found Montrella in transition for the game-winner.
Radnor, ranked No. 1 by Phillylacrosse.com and No. 1 in 3A in this week’s PA State Lacrosse Rankings, improved to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the Central League. The Cougars, No, 15 in the Phillylacrosse.com Rankings and No. 6 in 3A in the PA Rankings, fell to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the league.
The Raptors had six different goal scorers. Nick DeCain made 9 saves. For Springfield, Donaldson and Pat Flaherty each scored twice and Lucas Aaron won 10 of 14 faceoffs while Jackson Kennedy posted 7 saves.
