The York (Pa.) Spartans were selected as the favorite in the 2023 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth men’s lacrosse coaches. The Spartans collected eight first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 64 points.

In 2022, York defeated Stevenson to win its second-consecutive conference title. The Spartans finished 8-0 in conference play to earn the top-seed in the tournament.
York began the 2022 NCAA Tournament with a win over Southern Virginia in the second round, followed by a victory over No. 19 Denison in the third round. The Spartans then edged No. 3 Christopher Newport in an overtime thriller during the quarterfinals. York’s season came to an end in the NCAA Semifinals to No. 8 Union — they finished with a 20-3 overall record.
Both York (No. 7) and Stevenson (No. 16) were recognized in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Men’s Preseason Poll.
The 2023 season is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 4. Conference play will begin on Wednesday, March 28, with an eight-game schedule.
The 2023 MAC Commonwealth Men’s Lacrosse Championship is set for May 1-6th. The top-five seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
