Cabrini University Men’s Lacrosse coach Tommy DeLuca has announced the team captains for the upcoming 2024 season.
Peter Hewitt (Conestoga), Gerry Ulatowski (Unionville), Austin Bolton, and Sam Kirk (Bishop Shanahan) have been selected by the coaching staff and team members for the leadership positions. Hewitt and Bolton served as team captains last season.
“We’re very excited for these four young men to help lead the way in our final season this spring,” said DeLuca. “They have solidified themselves as teammates and friends that can be looked up to as great role models, and will have tremendous support from our entire team as we make this final season one to remember!”
Hewitt, a returning captain, appeared in all 19 games last season as a defensive midfielder. Hewitt earned a First Team Atlantic East nod, as well as USILA Honorable Mention All-American. Hewitt was dominant on the defensive side of the ball and face off wings securing 61 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, good for third and fourth on the team in each category. Hewitt also found success on the offensive side of the ball, with a pair of both goals and assists.
Ulatowski, a first time captain, appeared in 14 games, posting an even five goals and five assists for ten points. Ulatowski secured 6 goals and 13 assists the season prior, bringing his career total to 12 goals and 20 assists.
Bolton, a returning captain, was third on the team last season in both goals and points, with 25 goals and 42 points. Bolton was also a force in the riding game for Cabrini, causing 7 turnovers and securing 20 ground balls.
Kirk, a first time captain, missed a majority of the season last year battling injuries. In just 9 games played, Kirk secured 10 ground balls and caused 3 turnovers. Kirk was also good for 8 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers the season prior.
The Cavaliers will start their final season on Saturday, February 17th as they host Haverford College.
