Black Bear LC announces coaching staff for new girls’ program; tryouts set for tonight, July 26/27 at Perkiomen Valley

It is with great excitement that Black Bear shares its Girls Lacrosse Club Coaching Staff for the 2023/2024 season. The #1 Goal is to offer families in the community the best quality coaching and instruction.

Tryouts for the 2nd to 8th grade girls team are Thursday, July 13th with 2nd-4th graders 6-7:30 pm at Perkiomen Valley HS. And 5th to 8th graders from 8-9:30 pm. Another round of tryouts will be held July 26/27.

Current Souderton Youth Girls Head Coach she has over 20+ years of coaching experience at the Youth Level in the community. She played at Division II Millersville University as an All PSAC selection and eventually came back as an Assistant Coach. She has Coached at the HS level at both Harriton and Bonner-Prendie.She brings a wealth of passion, knowledge, and care for developing girls into better players and people.

Class of 2013 Methacton HS played attack All-League and team MVP. Played at Division III Allegheny College scoring over 100 career points. Coaches at Dynamite LC from 2013-2020 where she was considered one of the programs Top Tier Coaches and well-liked by her players and families. Also Coaches for Methacton Youth Girls LC.

Coach Val will also be serving as an assistant coach with our girls cub 2033/34 team. Coach Val is currently the Boyertown Youth Girls Program Director and has been coaching youth girls for over 15 years as well as also being the Boyertown MS-West Girls Field Hockey Coach for the last 4+ years and is the founder of the OBX Girls Lacrosse Club in North Carolina as well as one of our Assistant Directors.

Class of 2012 Boyertown High School played midfield All-League. Played at Division III Albright College where she was a 3x Commonwealth Midfielder. She has been a JV Coach at Perkiomen Valley High School for the last 4 seasons and is very involved with the PV Youth Girls LC.

Nikki is well known and loved in the PV and surrounding communities bringing 25+ years of coaching experience from youth to the collegiate level (Head Coach Gwynedd Mercy University, assistant Coach at Widener and Millersville Universities). She is also one of our Assistant Directors.

A 2004 Perkiomen Valley HS graduate Tara played at Division III Widener University where she was an All-Commonwealth player for the Pride. She has been coaching recently in the Perkiomen Valley Girls Youth Program!

Catie is our Cub Program Director overseeing the development of our youngest girls. A 2005 Spring-Ford Graduate she brings over 15+ years of coaching experience. She was Head JV Coach at Methacton before becoming the Head Varsity Coach at Upper Perkiomen High School. She also has been coaching youth girls for the last 6 years in both girls lacrosse and field hockey.

A 2021 Perkiomen Valley High School graduate she was an All-League goalie for the Vikings and is the current starting goalie at Division II Bloomsburg University. She was a goalie coach last Summer for Dynamite LC and will be assisting all our Girls Youth Teams and Goalies through the year.
