Archmere Academy’s Millison is ‘Player to Watch’ for @Victory_Events Liberty National Elite Showcase; some spots remain for MF, FO, goalie

Reece Millison is as motivated as anyone for this summer lacrosse recruiting season.

Reece Millison

The 2024 attackman from Archmere Academy (DE) and Duke’s Elite was ineligible to play this spring after transferring from Ridley High as he waits for his waiver to be accepted. He will hear soon if his 2024 high school season waiver is accepted.

At Ridley in 2022, he scored over 30 goals as an X attackman. He’s thrilled to return to the field after spending the spring as a practice player for an Auks team that reached the Delaware state semifinals and finished No. 3 in the Phillylacrosse state rankings.

This Friday, Millison will compete in the Victory Events Liberty National Elite Showcase (Classes of 2024, 2025, 2026) at Kirkwood Sports Club near Wilmington, DE. There are limited spots remaining in the showcase at midfield, faceoff and goalie. Registration can be found here. Walk-ups may be accepted.

“I practiced every day and I watched a lot of lacrosse games so I think it helped my IQ,” said Millison. “I also got to play against a lot of good poles in practice.

“But now to take that practice and get it to put it on the field is great. It’s a lot different, but I just need to do what I’ve always been doing. I think I matured in my academics; I had to take school so seriously and learn how hard the academics are in college.”

Millison has competed in three summer events already: Maverik Showtime, NXT’s Summer Showcase, and Run with the Best.

“I think my strengths are dodging from behind and feeding,” he said. “My step-down drops on my right side are strong and also my dodging from the wings. I’m more of a low dodger and I like to take my guy from X.”

What is Millison working on this summer?

“Getting my shots dialed with both hands and coming up the hash with both hands,” he said. “I want to be more deceptive and keep improving my IQ.”
