The game was played at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field. Junior Emma Eberhardt posted six points as well via three goals and three assists. The win is Lehigh’s third in its last four games, all coming in the last 10 days, to improve to 3-3 on the season.

Along with the two six-point performances, junior Gabby Schneider added four assists. Junior Cassie Marte (Spring-Ford) scored twice for her second-career multi-goal game. Senior Nora Giordano posted a goal and assist.

Senior Claire Keller posted two caused turnovers defensively, while Schneider also had three on the ride. Eberhardt and Marte each had a game-high four draw controls.

Giordano began the scoring, from Schneider, at 13:29 of the first quarter. Memeger went on to give Lehigh leads of 2-0 then 3-0 at 10:44 and 5:17, respectively. After Coastal Carolina got on the board late in the stanza, a highlight-reel behind-the-back goal from Eberhardt – followed by Memeger’s third, from Eberhardt on the fast break – gave the Mountain Hawks a 5-1 advantage with 9:00 left in the first half.

The teams traded goals through the rest of the half, as junior Katia Carnevale put Lehigh ahead, 7-3, after 30 minutes of play.

The Chanticleers had one stretch of scoring four-of-five second-half goals to pull within 10-7, but Memeger’s fourth – from Schneider – put Lehigh ahead 11-7 with 6:50 remaining, on the way to the 11-8 final.

Final shots were 28-20 in favor of Lehigh while the Mountain Hawks held an 11-10 edge in groundballs and 12-11 advantage in draw controls. Sophomore Hayley Hunt finished with 10 saves in goal while Coastal Carolina’s Claire Martell tallied nine.
