UVA freshman Clark (Conestoga) earns VaSID Rookie of the Year; more Philly players earn All-State

Freshman Rachel Clark (Conestoga) was named the 2022 VaSID Rookie of the Year and was one of four All-State Team selections for the Cavaliers, as announced Thursday (June 30) by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.

Additionally, redshirt senior Ashlyn McGovern, Sophomore Aubrey Williams and sophomore Mackenzie Hoeg were VaSID All-State First Team selections.

Clark – the Phillylacrosse.com Co-Player of the Year in 2021 – was the ACC Freshman of the Year and was an Inside Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention. She led the Cavaliers in points with 75, earning All-ACC Second Team, ACC All-Freshman, and IWLCA All-South Region honors. She set a Virginia freshman record, scoring 64 goals in 18 games, recording 14 hat tricks, and coming in fourth in the ACC in goals per game (3.20).

VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in Virginia.

Washington & Lee’s Schwab (Harriton) earns All-State

The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced its 2022 All-State Women’s Lacrosse College Division teams (D3) on Wednesday and Washington and Lee junior attack Allie Schwab (Harriton) earned All-State First Team.
 
Schwab – the Phillylacrosse.com Co-Player of the Year in 2019 – led the Generals this season in both assists (37) and points (77), and she ranked second with 40 goals. Her 37 assists were the second-highest total in the ODAC, while her 77 points were fourth in the league and also marked the third-highest total in a season in program history. Schwab was also named to the IWLCA All-America First Team this season and the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America Third Team.
