Germantown Friends School will host its popular GFS Lacrosse Camp from June 27-July 1, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., for girls rising in grades 2-9, at the GFS Playing Fields, Philadelphia.
Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach and GFS Athletics Director Katie Bergstrom Mark will lead the program focused on improving individual skills with an emphasis on stick work, positional play, defensive footwork, and game concepts. Players of all levels are welcomed and will be placed in groups based on experience and age. Led by high level high school players and the GFS coaching staff, campers will build on their lacrosse game in a fun and supportive environment. The goal for the camp is not only to teach the skills necessary to excel at lacrosse, but to build confidence and deepen players’ passion for the sport.
In her 20th year as the Head Coach, Bergstom Mark has led the Tigers to 16 Friends Schools League championship games and seven titles, including 2021. More than 40 GFS lacrosse players have gone on to play and coach at some of the best collegiate programs.
The program cost is $395. Germantown Friends School’s Playing Fields is located at 2823 Midvale Ave, Philadelphia and is home to the Tiger lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, and tennis teams and facilities.
