Phillylacrosse Girls’ Rankings: Arch. Carroll takes over top spot; Episcopal Academy makes big move to No. 3

The Phillylacrosse.com Girls’ Rankings:

1. Archbishop Carroll (1-0) Prev: No. 3 – The Patriots handled Downingtown East and now gear for Tuesday’s early-season Catholic League showdown with visiting Cardinal O’Hara.
2. Manheim Township (1-0) Prev: No. 6 – The Blue Streaks earned an impressive 10-6 win over Radnor – the team it fell to in last year’s PIAA Class AAA final.
3. Episcopal Academy (2-0) Prev: NR – EA, unranked in the preseason, had a brilliant start with wins over Agnes Irwin and Garnet Valley.
4. Moorestown-NJ (0-0) Prev: No. 4 – The Quakers seek another NJ Group 3 championship and a trip back to the Tournament of Champions finals.
5. Owen J. Roberts (1-0) Prev: No. 7 – The Wildcats earned an 11-5 triumph over defending District 3 AAA champion Wilson.
6. Penn Charter (3-0) Prev: No. 5 – The Quakers close out their Southern California trip today at La Costa Canyon.
7. Agnes Irwin (1-1) Prev: No. 1 – The Owls face major tests in Florida this week; today at American Heritage School and Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas.
8. Radnor (0-1) Prev: No. 2 – The Raptors open Central League play Tuesday at home vs. No. 10 Conestoga.
9. Garnet Valley (0-1) Prev: No. 8 – The Jaguars open Central League play Tuesday at Harriton.
10. Conestoga (1-0) Prev: No. 9 – The Pioneers play at No. 8 Radnor Tuesday in their Central League opener.
11. Cherokee-NJ (0-0) Prev: No. 10 – The Chiefs won the NJ Group 4 championship and reached the Tournament of Champions semifinals last year.
12. Easton (2-0) Prev: No. 11 – The Rovers play Tuesday at Pleasant Valley.
13. Bishop Shanahan (1-0) Prev: No. 12 – The Eagles host No. 10 Conestoga today.
14. Unionville (1-0) Prev: No. 13 – The Longhorns opened with a 9-5 win over Academy of Notre Dame.
15. (tie) Twin Valley (1-0) Prev: No. 14 – The Raiders face some good tests this week; Wednesday vs. York Catholic and Saturday at No. 2 Manheim Township (tie) Great Valley (1-0) Prev: No. 15 – The Patriots opened with an 8-2 win over Phoenixville; (tie) Cardinal O’Hara (0-0) Prev: No. 15 – The Lions open Tuesday with the ultimate test, at No. 1 Archbishop Carroll.
