How do you define leadership: “For me, leadership is one of the most important qualities to have. A leader is someone who is a good role model for everyone around them. They do the right thing even when no one is looking and hold themselves to the highest standard. On the lacrosse field, I am determined to lead by example and build everyone around me up, whether that be after a goal was scored, a save was made, or a turnover was caused.”
How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “Although it can be hard to balance school, sports, and service somedays, I always remind myself why I do it in the first place. My love for lacrosse and drive to be the best student, athlete, and person I can be is a constant motivator. I always keep it in the back of my head that the late night gym and study sessions will not go unnoticed. My busy schedule has taught me the importance of organization and time management which will continue to benefit me for years to come.”
On her Luke World Mission Trip: “In February 2020 I had the privilege of traveling to Santiago, Dominican Republic, with members of the medical staff from Abington Memorial Hospital. During our time, we distributed hygiene products and other goods to the less fortunate in a local village. We also visited a nearby orphanage where I was able to socialize with the children and distribute toys. The joy that was on their faces is something I will truly never forget. This trip ignited the desire in me to be a difference maker not only on the field, but also in the world.”
What are your future goals? “In the short-term, my goal is to make PIAA playoffs this year. CB South fell slightly short last year and I would love the opportunity to play a few more games with this amazing team. After high school, I am extremely excited to be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Richmond. I cannot wait to step on the field as a Spider and compete at the highest level. I plan on majoring in business and hope to integrate my love for sports into my career.”
