How do you define leadership: “Playing a sport with leadership means playing for something bigger than yourself, and doing the little things right when no one is watching. Growing up as an athlete, I learned that leadership was the most important quality to possess as a teammate. It is the type of positive attitude that you can’t really teach, and the ability to guide a team by example. A leader doesn’t always have to be the one with the best skills, but instead the person who works the hardest to build everyone up and make everyone better. On the field, or on the court, my goal is to be the reminder that we’ll be able to accomplish anything when we work together.”

How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “I think that as hard as it might be to manage my time as a student-athlete, I prioritize the things that matter the most to me. Since the pandemic, I value every day that I get to spend on the field, in the classroom, or working hands-on with others. Being busy at such a young age can be tiring for sure, but I think the balance comes naturally because being a student-athlete is what makes me, me. Late nights of homework, lifts at the gym, and practicing on my own all end up paying off. My love for learning, not only in the game of lacrosse but also in the real world, is what keeps me going.”

What are your future goals?  “At Drexel, I’ll be majoring in film and television. I fell in love with the way the lacrosse program is comprised of a group of driven girls that really never give up. I think it will be a place I feel at home, but also a place I can find myself. I hope to find my niche in either film or the business side of the industry. Partaking in service and athletics as a high school student has taught me how to work with others, and also how to use my voice. I love the way that films can touch others, and I’m hoping in some way I have a career that will be inspiring for other hard-working girls just like me.”
