From Press Release

Beginning where he left off last season, Mike Sisselberger (Southern Lehigh) of Lehigh men’s lacrosse was named Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week on Monday. It marks his sixth straight dating back to last season after ending 2021 with five in a row. Sisselberger won 14-of-16 faceoffs in the Mountain Hawks’ season opener on Saturday, a 10-5 win at NJIT..

After losing the game’s first faceoff, Sisselberger won the next 11 straight and 14 of his final 15. He also added 11 groundballs. A first team preseason All-American, Sisselberger is coming off a season in which he broke the NCAA Division I record for faceoff percentage (79.5).

Senior James Spence also received honorable mention on the Patriot League weekly honor roll following 12 saves, allowing just five goals Saturday.

The Mountain Hawks remain on the road on Saturday when they travel to Hobart for a 12 p.m. opening faceoff.

Senior face-off specialist Zach Cole (Lenape) has been named NEC Co-Player of the Week after a solid performance from the X against St. Bonaventure, while senior Levi Anderson was tabbed a Prime Performer, the league announced Monday.

Cole went 20-of-26 on face offs with a game high 12 ground balls and played a pivotal role in the Hawks securing possession to score the eventual game-winning goal with four seconds remaining.
