Bill Irish scored three goals and Joe Doherty posted 12 saves to spark host Malvern Prep to a 10-7 victory today over Salesianum School in a battle of the two top ranked teams by Phillylacrosse.com.
No. 1 Malvern Prep improved to 15-3 while No. 2 Salesiaum fell to 10-2.
In a swirling rain, Malvern Prep broke open a 3-2 game with four unanswered goals and opened a 10-4 lead until three late goals by the Sals.
AJ Nikolic had two goals and an assist while Liam Timmins and Mike Ortlieb each had a goal and two assists for the Friars. Joe Sheridan contributed a goal and an assist.
Caelan Driggs led Sallies with four goals and Zack Friend scored twice.
