Connor Mann set a Lansdale Catholic school record with nine goals Monday to spark the host Crusaders to a 14-7 victory over Pope John Paul II in the inaugural Cole’s Goals Liver Disease Awareness game.
Cole’s Goals was created to help raise awareness about Biliary Atresia and other liver diseases and to fundraise for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Liver Research Foundation.
Cole Joseph Princehorn, son of LC coach Mark Princehorn, was born on November 30, 2020 and at his 2-month appointment it was learned he was suffering from Biliary Atresia. The rare congenital disease, which afflicts infants, causes a blockage in the ducts that carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder.
Cole underwent a 7-hour surgery and has made great progress while undergoing treatments for 15 months. He still has his native liver and the Princehorn family and LC community wishes to thank the team at CHOP.
In Monday’s game, Dan Curran won 15 of 20 faceoffs and Patch Flannery had two goals and an assist while Pat McKeever had a goal and three assists. Mikey Kleinert and Pat Cooney each had a goal and an assist. Jack Kennedy (5 saves) and Carson Schroding (3 saves) handled the goaltending duties.
