This is one of a series of previews for the 2022 scholastic lacrosse season

Wilson High School (West Lawn)

League: Berks League

Head Coach: Ryan Sheaffer (1st Year)
Assistants: Joe Bialek, Bill Hughes, David Dominik

2021 Record & Accomplishments: 22-3, Berks County Champions, District 3 Champions, PIAA Quarterfinalist

Key Players: Matt Stitzel – M/FO, Brayden Skipper – G (Cabrini), Alex Hatalski – LSM (Seton Hill), Gavin Lenart – M (Cabrini), Sean Dendall – D (Eastern)

Coach’s Outlook: “We have an athletic, hard working group with a good mix of senior leadership and young talent looking to gain experience. We return key players at the face off X and in the goal, along with an experienced defensive group. Offensively, we will have several new faces looking to contribute and develop chemistry. Our challenging schedule should prove very beneficial to allow us to be peaking in May.”

Daniel Boone

League: Berks League

Coach: Andy Wagner, First Year at Daniel Boone; Lycoming College – Asst Coach (99,2000), Perkiomen Valley HS – Head Coach (2004-2012)
Asst. Coaches: Jason Meyer, Will Singer, Dan Brown, Jeff Scott, Mike Amtsberg, Joe Frick.

2021 All-Star, returning: Colin Wagner, Jr. -Attack

Others to watch: Jordan Meyer -Def, Bret Marchiano -Def, Ryan Souder -Def, Joe DiGiacomo -Att., Aidan Laws -Mid, Nolan Brown -Mid, Dylan Ickes -Mid, Jake Meyers-Def.

Outlook: “We are excited to start a new chapter in the Daniel Boone lacrosse program, where we have a host of young players anchored by returning seniors Xander Yergey -Mid and Mike Digiacomo -Def. The team’s core is young, but not completely inexperienced. Many of the players earned valuable playing time during last season’s campaign, which will benefit them this year. We will be relying heavily on an athletic defense as the offense builds chemistry.”
