Sophomore Alex Reilly scored on an 8-meter in overtime to lift visiting Springside Chestnut Hill Academy to a come-from-behind 13-12 victory over Episcopal Academy in an Inter-Ac League contest that has caused a logjam atop the standings.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, ranked No 4 by Phillylacrosse.com, won its seventh straight game and improved to 3-1 in the Inter-Ac. No. 2 EA suffered its first loss overall (9-1) and in the Inter-Ac (4-1). Agnes Irwin (2-1) also has one league loss.

SCH rallied from a 10-5 deficit in forcing overtime. Reilly finished with five goals, one assist, five draw controls, two caused turnovers and two groundballs.

“Obviously my emotions were high and there was a lot of pressure, but I wanted to do my best for the team and finish!” said Reilly of the game-winner.

“Despite being down 5 goals, we made some adjustments on the draw that helped us gain more possessions, which we capitalized on. We also wanted to just take it one goal at a time.”

Emma Bradbury also had a strong all-around game for the Blue Devils, collecting five goals, one assist, five draws, two caused turnovers and one groundball. Cece Reilly added two goals, three groundballs and two caused turnovers. Riley Kling had three caused turnovers and two groundballs and Lucy Pearson made 10 saves.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy has won seven straight games since losing its opener to Agnes Irwin. Other victories over Top 15 teams included triumphs over Cardinal O’Hara and Penn Charter.

“Our team chemistry and culture is very strong this year, which has allowed us to win these big games!” said Alex Reilly. “A huge shoutout to our coaching staff because they prepare us for each matchup!”

For EA, Bella Piselli had three goals and a groundball, Alexa Capozzoli added two goals, three assists, four draw controls and a groundball while Alexis Ventresca had a goal and two assists. Sydney Richter had a goal and seven draws.
