Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 2/9/22 – From Press Release

Four-time defending champion Georgian Court University was picked first in the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced on Tuesday by Commissioner Dan Mara. GCU earned 85 points in the voting, including six first-place votes, as the voting in the poll was conducted by the league’s 10 head coaches in the sport.

GCU has won the CACC Championship in the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 seasons. The 2020 championship was not conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Lions have defeated Thomas Jefferson University in each of the last two conference championship finals.

Thomas Jefferson was second in the voting with 84 points and three-first place nods. Wilmington University rounded out the top three with 75 points and one first-place vote.

The 2022 season gets underway the weekend of Feb. 19-20, with several teams in action. The regular season will be a buildup to the 2022 CACC Championship tournament, which will be held April 26, 29-30, with the semifinals and final being staged at Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J.
