Drexel’s second-place vote follows a historic 2021 season, where the Dragons secured a top 10 national ranking and their first ever program appearance in the CAA title game. They also earned their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Karson Harris, Colleen Grady, and Lucy Schneidereith highlighted the awards as all three were selected to the 2022 Preseason All-CAA team. Drexel’s powerhouse offensive trio was joined by teammates Zoe Bennett, Maura Cissel, Belle McHugh (Academy of Notre Dame) and Corinne Bednarik (Downingtown West), all of whom were recognized as Honorable Mention selections.

Harris enters the 2022 season as the reigning CAA Player of the Year, the first ever Drexel POTY in program history. The Great Mills, Md. native scored a team-record 61 goals to go along with 92 draws in a 13-3 season. In addition to her POTY selection, Harris garnered several awards throughout a historic year. She was a First Team All-CAA selection and was named to the CAA All-Tournament team. Harris was a Tewaaraton Top-25 selection, a IWLCA DI All-Region First Team pick, an IWLCA Second Team All-American, an Inside Lacrosse Media Third Team All-American and a USA Lacrosse Magazine Second Team All-American.

Schneidereith joins Harris as the second midfielder to make the Preseason All-CAA team. Drexel was the only school to have two athletes selected in one position category. Schneidereith was second on the team in goals in 2021 (58) while amassing a career-high 61 points. She was an offensive catalyst for the Dragons in the postseason, recording hat tricks in both CAA Tournament games and the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Schneidereith finished the year ranked second in the CAA in goals per game (3.62), seventh in points per game (3.81) and third in shots per game (7.12). The Lutherville, Md. native was selected to the CAA All-Tournament team. She was an All-CAA First Team pick, was named an IWLCA DI All-Region Second Team member and a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American.

Grady led the way offensively for the Dragons in 2021, providing 48 goals and 41 assists. She broke the single-season record for both assists (41) and points (89). Grady was named a Third-Team IWLCA All-American, an IWLCA DI All-Region First Team and an Inside Lacrosse Media All-American Honorable Mention status in addition to being named to the All-CAA First Team. The Glen Ridge, N.J. native led the CAA in several categories including assists per game (2.56), points per game (5.56) and game winning goals (5). She was also ranked second in the nation in assists per game (4.00), eighth in free position goals per game (1.00) and 12th in points per game (5.00).

The Dragons will kick off their 2022 campaign on home turf Saturday, Feb. 12 against Wagner at 11 a.m.
