From Press Release
William & Mary lacrosse head coach Colleen Dawson (West Chester East) has announced the selections of Elsa Rall (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy), Audrey Hoeg, Sophie Kopec, Anne Milwicz and Devon Fleischmann (Perkiomen Valley) as team captains for the 2021 season.
“We are thrilled to announce Devon, Elsa, Millie, Audrey, and Sophie as our 2021 captains,” Dawson said. “There has never been a harder year to step up and be a leader, and our team did an excellent job of selecting these five young women to lead us this season. While all five have different strengths, I am grateful for having captains who exemplify our core values, a team-first mentality, and a willingness to embrace change. I look forward to watching this team continue to grow and unite under the leadership of our captains.”
A two-time team captain, Rall enters her fourth season as the Tribe’s staring goalie. In addition to ranking third in the CAA and 24th nationally in saves per game last season (10.0), she currently ranks fifth in school history with 386 saves.
Although Fleischmann has seen limited playing time, her leadership both on and off the field has helped contribute to the Tribe’s success. A three-time CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll selection, she appeared in three games last season and posted six saves.
W&M opened the season today at No. 15 Duke.
