Syracuse faceoff specialist Jakob Phaup (Souderton) was honored twice after his standout effort in a 20-10 victory over Virginia.
Phaup was selected to the USILA Team of the Week, which honors 10 top players each week. He also was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Phaup went 22-of-33 at the faceoff X with eight ground balls against the Cavaliers. Coming into the contest, UVA faceoff man Petey LaSalla ranked second nationally in faceoff win percentage.
On the season, Phaup is winning over 63-percent of restarts. He ranked fifth nationally in faceoff win percentage in the shortened 2020 season.
