HS Girls’ Previews: Suburban One American’s Plymouth Whitemarsh, Wissahickon

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School

Coach: Ellen K. Reilly, 31 years

Assistant Coaches: Michelle McLoughlin, Charmaze Banks

2019 record: 2019 Sub One League American Division 4-5, Overall 6-11

Notable losses: Raquel Baskin – Attack, Amanda Fineman – Defense, Morgan Green – Attack, Callie Kolkka – Attack, Autumn Luptak – Attack, Olivia Mattioni –Midfield, Lucy Sullivan – Attack

Key returners: Brenna Budd 12th Defense, Max Leszczynski 12 Midfield, Haley McCourt 12th Defense, Clancy Lynch 12th Goalie, Brianna Austin 11th Midfield, Fiona Goonerate 11th Attack.

Early in the Pandemic we were able to Recognize our Seniors with a Drive By Celebration!  We kept in contact with Zoom!  

Coach’s Outlook: “The PW Lacrosse Program is grateful to be back together and excited to see what the season brings.  Our experienced players are leading by example working hard and getting to know their team-mates.  We have a great group of younger players who are showing promise. As a team we look to utilize the opportunity ahead of us.”  

Wissahickon High School

Key Players:  Sophia Chiodo Ortiz (no hyphen) Attack/Midfield, Abby DeGroat Midfield, Alexis Hobson Midfield, Emma Baker Attack, Alena Doll Defense, Amanda Brecher Defense

Coach’s Outlook for 2021: “This year’s team is so excited to actually play and create memories on the field again!  Experienced & skilled seniors, Sophia Chiodo Ortiz (William & Mary) Abby DeGroat, Quinn Gaffey, Haley Reed and Alena Doll as well as Juniors Emma Baker (Townson) and Alexis Hobson are excited to make plays on both ends of the field as well as lead and teach our new faces on the field here at Wissahickon.”
