Slightly more than three weeks away from their first competition in nearly a year, Chestnut Hill College received votes in the recently released 2021 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Coaches Preseason Poll (.PDF) (USILA).

Carson Rees

The Scarlet and Gold totaled six points from the ranking committee, joining six other schools who placed just outside the Top-20. Le Moyne College received 12 of the 19 possible first-place votes to top the preseason poll with 372 total points. The University of Tampa ranked second to the Dolphins with the remaining seven first-place votes and 362 total points.

Chestnut Hill College made every moment on Victory Field #1 count in 2020 as they scored three overpowering wins and challenged one of the top teams in the Nation (L, 10-17 vs. #4 Mercyhurst University on February 22) on the way to a 5-1 record. Senior attack Carson Reese (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) was the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II leader in goals per game (5.50) and points per game (7.83) while serving as the epicenter of a high-powered offense that topped the Nation in assists per game (13.67), man-up offense (15-of-17, .882), points per game (35.17), scoring margin (12.50/game), scoring offense (21.50), and shot percentage (.454). Meanwhile, the net play of junior Jake Miller (Castle Rock, Colo.) balanced the Griffins and ranked him sixth in the Nation in save percentage (.646).
