Cabrini has been selected as the unanimous favorites to win the Atlantic East Conference in 2021.
Cabrini received six of the seven available first place votes and 36 points overall from the league’s coaches to take the top spot in the conference’s preseason poll.
Gwynedd Mercy received 29 total points, including the remaining first place nod, followed by Marymount (26 points) and Neumann (22). Marywood’s 16 points were good for fifth, while Immaculata and Wesley completed the poll with 12 and six points, respectively.
The Cavaliers will enter the 2021 campaign riding an NCAA record streak of 121 consecutive contests and 19 straight conference titles.
Head coach Steve Colfer enters his 21st season on the Cabrini sideline with a deep squad looking to make another run deep into the NCAA Tournament. Colfer’s charges are led by a quintet of USILA preseason All-Americans in Tommy DeLuca, Mike Gerzabek (Springfield-Delco), Jake Klein (Wilson), Ty Kostack (Marple Newtown) and Matt LoParo.
The Cavaliers will open their 2021 season on Saturday, March 6, when they play host to Southern Virginia University. The opening faceoff is slated for 1pm at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
