Upper Dublin grad Michael Sowers – the leading candidate for the Tewaaraton Award until the COVID-19 pandemic struck – is expected to transfer to Duke for his final season, according to a report by Inside Lacrosse’s Ty Xanders.

The report said that Sowers, an attackman who was averaging over 9 points per game for an undefeated Princeton squad when the season was halted, plans to take his fifth year as a graduate student in Duke’s Fuqua School of Business,
Sowers, a Tewaaraton finalist in 2019, entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on April 9 when Princeton announced it would not grant student-athletes the ability to withdraw and re-enroll to play in the 2021 season.
Sowers, a First-Team All-American last year, was leading the nation in scoring with 16 goals and 41 assists in five games for the 5-0 Tigers, ranked No. 3 in the nation when the season ended.
