Princeton senior attackman Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) has been named the Inside Lacrosse Player of the Year.
Sowers was a clear-cut favorite for the Tewaaraton Award when the Coronovarus pandemic ended the NCAA season last month.
Sowers had 16 goals and 31 assists through five games for the 5-0 Tigers (ranked third in the nation), who arguably were the surprise team of the year in the season’s first and only month. He was leading the nation in scoring (9.40 points per game) and assists. He was named a First-Team Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Media All-American last week.
Sowers had not made official his decision on his future. He told Phillylacrosse.com he was waiting to hear the Ivy league’s final position on eligibility.
