July 2, 2020 by Chris Goldberg

From Press Release

Major League Lacrosse announced today that the league will hold a season that will be from July 18th to July 23rd and will be followed by a championship Weekend, culminating in a championship game on July 26th. There will also be two days of training camp, beginning July 16th.

All six Major League Lacrosse teams will converge on Annapolis, MD, where the entirety of the season will be held at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium. Additionally, games will be televised nationally on the ESPN family of networks.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Major League Lacrosse has assembled a team of medical professionals from each of the six team markets, who have developed a health and safety strategy to ensure the protection of all MLL players and staff.

The league has also designated a COVID Safety Protocol Officer to oversee the adherence to health and safety guidelines. In creating a safe playing atmosphere, MLL has enlisted the help of long-time partner, Cascade.

Cascade will provide players with their new Field Shield. The Field Shield will create a germblocking barrier for player’s SEI-Certified Cascade helmet.
2020 marks the return of the Philadelphia Barrage to Major League Lacrosse. The Barrage have a longstanding history of success in the 2000s, when the team won three MLL championships.

The Barrage will go head-to-head with opposing teams in five games throughout the course of the week, facing off with each MLL team once and fighting for a spot in the playoffs, to be held at the end of the week. And while the Barrage are unable to play in front of Philadelphia fans this season, they look forward for a triumphant return in 2021.
