Men’s D3 roundup: Arcadia, Neumann win

Goalie Timmy Fyock made a single-game, program-record 27 saves on 57 shots faced Wednesday night to lead the Arcadia University men’s lacrosse team to its second-straight victory to open the 2020 season, a 16-8 decision over Marywood.

Three Knights posted hat tricks in the effort, led by four goals each from Brian Albertsen and Clo Muscara, while Tanner Pajakinas (Berks Catholic) added three of his own.

Brady Manion (Newe Egypt, NJ) netted a goal and four assists to tie for the game-high in points with Muscara with five.

Neumann 25, Rosemont 5

The Knights rolled to their second consecutive win to open the 2020 season, picking up a resounding victory over Rosemont.

Drew Conlon (3 g, 3 a) led the Neumann attack on the afternoon with six points, while Colin Blake (Springfield-Delco) picked up four goals. Chris Bellon (3 g, Cherry Hill West), Eric Conlon (3 g) and Ryan McNichol (1 g, 2 a, Cardinal O’Hara)) also each chipped in with three point days, while Brendan Risley (Ridley) picked up the win in goal with 10 saves.

Scranton 14, Haverford 9

Both sophomore Cole Lukasiewicz (Haverford High) and senior Michael Elefonte had hat tricks to lead the way, as Scranton outscored host Haverford, 6-1, in the third quarter to coast to a win.
Sean Mowatt-Larssen had four goals for Haverford.
