January 6, 2020 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 1/6/20

Wissahickon 2021 faceoff/midfielder Matt Fritz has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Ohio State University.

Matt Fritz profile:

Matt Fritz

High school: Wissahickon (Blue Bell, PA)

Grad year: 2021

Positions: Faceoff, Midfield

College committed to: Ohio State University

Club team: Big 4 HHH

Lacrosse honors: 2019 NLF National Championships and Fall Invitational Standout; 2019 First Team All League; 2018 Under Armour Underclass Team (Philly); 2019 I-95 Cup Team PA

Academic honors: National Honor Society, WEOF Board Student Rep, Student Council, Distinguished Honor Roll

Why did you choose Ohio State? “I chose to commit to Ohio State for many great reasons, but most notable, because of their academic and athletic prestige. The alumni networking is awesome, and the school does a great job with setting you up for the future. The moment I stepped on campus, I knew it was where I wanted to be. I love the fact that it is a large school, yet its campus didn’t feel too big. As well, I built a great relationship with the coaches immediately, and I know that they are the type of people I want to have coaching and pushing me through my college career. “

Is there anything else you would like to share? “There are so many amazing people who have helped me throughout this process and develop me into the person/player that I am today. I would like to thank my family first and foremost, coaches, friends, and teammates for everything that they have done. All of the coaches in the Wissahickon, Big 4 HHH, Faceoff Academy, and Philly Faceoff League programs have done so much for me, and I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for myself and other players. ”
