Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 2021 attackman/midfielder Fitz McLaughlin has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at the Catholic University of America.

Fitz McLaughlin profile:

Fitz McLaughlin

High school: Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (Philadelphia, PA)

Grad year: 2021

Positions: Attack, Midfield

College committed to: Catholic University of America

Club team: Big4HHH

Lacrosse honors: All Star team – One Percent Showcase

Expected major: Engineering

Why did you choose Catholic University of America, Men’s D3? “I chose Catholic University because of the team connections. I had my decision down to two colleges. I love both of them and both coaches were amazing when I went to visit. After a few days of thinking it over I wanted to get in touch with a player from each team to see how the team dynamic was. I felt this would help sway my decision. After reaching out to both players the Catholic freshman really gave me a great look at the team and how life was on campus. I could tell he loved the players and, more importantly the coach. Coach (Jon) Sax (St. Joseph’s Prep graduate) is new to the Catholic program, only joining in the early summer. The way the freshman talked about coach Sax and how much he did for the team made it seem like he had been there for a life time. This was overall why I decided to pick Catholic University.”

Is there anything else you would like to share? “Thanks to Billy McKinney and Big 4 HHH; SCH Academy and Brian Dougherty and Matt Rambol my brother Mac and both of my parents. I can’t thank them enough.”

What other colleges did you consider? Stevens Institute of Technology, Florida Institute of Technology, and Ohio Northern University
