From Press Release
With the 2020 season just over a month away, La Salle’s women’s lacrosse team announced its captains for the upcoming campaign. Seniors Emily Talluto (Shipley School) and Lexi Kucia (Archbishop Carroll) are joined by juniors Bridget Ruskey (Middle Township, NJ) and Emily Johnston (Ridley) as the players tabbed to lead the Explorers.
Talluto and Kucia will be tasked with anchoring the defense. The former played and started in all 16 games last season, ranking fifth on the team in caused turnovers, while the latter played in all but one game in 2019.
Ruskey retains her captaincy for a second year in a row and is an integral part of the team’s offense. She led the Blue & Gold in goals (33), assists (13) and draw controls (54) en route to being named A-10 Second Team All-Conference.
Johnston played and started in eight games before missing the second half of the season due to injury. She still finished third on the team in draw controls (23), while scoring nine and assisting six. A year prior, she set the school record for draw controls in a season with 72.
The Explorers campaign begins at Manhattan on February 8th with their first home contest taking place on the 29th vs. Radford.
