From Press Release

As a way to regain a sense of normalcy, HEADstrong Sports, a division of the HEADstrong Foundation, has organized a tournament open to athletes of various divisions to be held this fall. The tournament will span across October 17-18 at DE Turf Sports Complex in Frederica, Delaware.

The two-day tournament deemed the “Relentless Games” will kick off the fall, and serves as a terrific opportunity to compete despite the uncertainty of rec and school athletics. It will be open to boy’s and girl’s youth club teams, boy’s high school clubs, men’s and women’s college clubs, men’s masters teams, and. Unlike a traditional tournament with a championship style format that can require waiting to find out when you are playing, the “Relentless Games” will be a three-game play day. Each division will play on a single day, ensuring you can get in, compete, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

The proceeds of the event will benefit the HEADstrong Foundation to continue the mission of improving lives affected by cancer. The HEADstrong Foundation offers direct to patient and family services for those battling cancer, and was founded by Hofstra lacrosse standout Nicholas Colleluori during his battle with the disease. Cancer is not cancelled because of the pandemic, and teams and individual players will also be encouraged to fundraise leading up to the event.

The HEADstrong Foundation understands the importance of practicing strict safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic. All coaches, spectators and staff will be required to wear masks at the venue, and urged to stay at least 6-feet apart on the sidelines or when walking through the venue. Tents and team hangout areas will not be permitted. While the facility, CDC, and DE state guidelines are continually evolving, HEADstrong is committed to monitoring and adopting the necessary protocol to ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all in attendance.
