From Press Release
Fusion Lacrosse is pleased to announce Desi Gonzalez as its Director of Community Outreach.
Coach Gonzalez brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. In addition to being the Head Coach at Emmaus High School, he is on the Puerto Rico board of directors for the men’s National Team while also serving as the team’s captain.
In 2019 Gonzalez guided Emmaus to the District 11 Class AAA championship with a 7-6 win over previously undefeated Parkland.
“Coach Gonzalez is a supremely qualified and highly respected coach in the lacrosse community,” said Fusion Co-Founder Steven Holmes. “He has quickly established a great report with all of the players he works with, and we are so lucky to have him working with our Fusion and Penn*Lax All-Stars teams.
“This additional role, as director of community outreach, aligns with his eagerness to grow the game and his ability to establish strong lasting relationships with everyone he meets. Without a doubt we will introduce more opportunities to players, families, and communities then we have previously been able.
“The amount of community building events, under-served community outreach, and overall Fusion ambassadorship is exciting for all of us with Desi at the helm.”
In the time Coach Gonzalez has spent with Fusion and Penn*Lax thus far, he found many positive: “Fusion Lacrosse is a hidden gem in the Philadelphia lacrosse community. The atmosphere, camaraderie, and coaching is unlike any ball club I have ever been a part of. I am excited for the opportunity to help spread the fusion brand and help grow the game in any way we can!”
Fusion Lacrosse is one of Philadelphia’s elite clubs, highlighted by its experienced staff and progressive field and box developmental models.
