Senior LSM Frank Krug (La Salle) was honored late on Friday being named to the USILA Scholar All-American Team as announced by the organization on its web site.
In 1989 the USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III. The Scholar All-Americas are recognized at the annual Lacrosse All-America Banquet.
Krug finished his career as the NCAA Division I, II, and III all-time leader in caused turnovers with 226. He led NCAA Division III in caused turnovers in 2017 and was tied for the lead this season before it was cancelled because of COVID-19. He was named a USILA Honorable-Mention All-American in 2019 and was All-MAC Freedom 3x including First-Team in 2018 and 2019. Krug ranks third all-time in DeSales history in ground balls (332).
He is the second DeSales player to earn USILA Scholar All-American honors joining Brennan Gmeiner who earned the honor in 2013.
