From Press Release

Penn State attackman Grant Ament – a Haverford School grad who set an NCAA record for assists in a single season – was picked first by the Archers in the Premier Lacrosse League Collegiate Draft.

Grant Ament

The Archers – led by head coach Chris Bates (Episcopal Academy coach) – also selected defenseman Jack Rapine (Upper Duiblin) of Johns Hopkins in the second round (11th pick).

Experts felt Ament would be the No. 1 pick after he declared he was not returning to Penn State for his extra year of eligibility.

Ament set the NCAA assists record in 2019 with 96 had 91 goals and 189 assists for 280 points in 54 games at Penn State. He was a Tewaaraton Award finalist in 2019.

The PLL Collegiate Draft was two rounds and 14 picks. If a team picked a player who returns to NCAA, they lose that selection.
