On a blustery Saturday afternoon, No. 4 West Chester (3-1, 1-0 PSAC) opened its PSAC slate on Saturday afternoon opposite Slippery Rock (1-3, 0-1 PSAC). West Chester played well throughout to roll to a convincing 17-3 victory over the Rock.
Maggie Stella (Central Bucks East) and Drew McKinney (Downingtown West) each registered three goals while Emily Schulze (North Penn), Ryan McKinney (Downingtown East), Devon Mela (Council Rock North), and Tatum Altman each registered a pair of goals of their own. Additionally, Kasey Kelly (Notre Dame, NJ), Tara Morrissey (Bishop Shanahan), and Helen Kreschollek (Saucon Valley) also found the back of the net in the victory.
D2 – Swarthmore 17, Eastern 5
The Garnet improved to 6-0 following a rout at home of the visiting Eagles. The win streak matches Swarthmore’s hot start in 2014 when the Garnet also started off the year with a 6-0 pace.
This season, the Garnet have outscored their opponents by at least 10 goals each game and have a cumulative advantage of 90-26 this season.
Sophie Peipher (Tower Hill, DE) led the Garnet with a hat trick, her fourth hat trick performance of the year. Five players posted a pair of goals: Tess Wild (Archjbishop Wood), Julia Ostrowski, Kyra Hall, Megan Jones and Kathryn Restrepo (Strath Haven) all recorded the brace. Restrepo’s second goal gave her 100 for her career.
Moravian 21, Widener 16
Sophomore midfielder Meaghan McMullan (Moravian Academy) scored a school record 13 points (8G, 5A) to lead the Greyhounds (4-1) to a non-conference victory at Widener (2-4).
Caroline Kelley (Absegami, NJ) had six goals for the Pride while Kelly Lynch (Springfield-Delco) had three goals and five assists.
