From Press Release

Widener University men’s lacrosse coach Jamie Lockard announced the addition of Shipley School assistant Robb Chambers to the Pride coaching staff.

“Robb is a tremendous addition to our staff,” said Lockard. “We had a lot of quality candidates and he quickly rose to the top. His experiences at the Division I, club, and high school levels make him a perfect fit for our program.”

Chambers spent the last three years as the assistant coach and defensive coordinator for his high school Alma Mater, Shipley, in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He coached nine First Team All-Friends League selections, and the Gators went 38-18 during his tenure. In addition to coaching the Shipley School, Chambers served as the assistant coach for Philadelphia Freedom Lacrosse Club, working primarily with the defense and advising students through the college recruiting process.

Before coaching locally, Chambers was the Head Assistant Coach for the Sacred Heart University men’s lacrosse team. He was responsible for developing defensive schemes and training goalies, while creating team building exercises throughout the year.

Under his regime, Sacred Heart had 11 players named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Conference team.

Prior to Sacred Heart, Chambers coached at Providence College upon graduating from the institution in 1999. With Chambers as the offensive coordinator/recruiting coordinator and goalie coach, the Friars saw one conference Rookie of the Year and one All-American.

The Bryn Mawr, Pa. native ranks second in career saves at Providence College and earned his B.S. in Health Policy and Management. He currently resides in Berwyn, Pa.
