Top-ranked UNC women’s class features three from Philly region: Baker (Penn Charter), Long (Springfield-Delco), Magalotti (Wilson)

Nine of the nation’s top high school seniors have signed National Letters of Intent to attend the University of North Carolina and join the Tar Heel women’s lacrosse program.

Led by No. 1 overall recruit Caitlyn Wurzburger, Carolina has the top recruiting class in the country, according to Inside Lacrosse’s ILWomen rankings. Wurzburger is joined in the ILWomen top 25 by Shannon Smith (9), Reilly Casey (12), Springfield-Delco’s Alyssa Long (22) and Alexa Gentile (24).

Ella Little, Emily Magalotti (Wilson) and Amelia Sheehan are listed among the recruits On The Rise, with Brooke Baker (Penn Charter) also joining the signing class.

All nine future Tar Heels are prep seniors in 2019-20 who will enroll at Carolina for the 2020-21 academic year.
