NXT’s winter training returns this January for both fundamental and elite athletes. Offering Play Fast for fundamental development and NXT Lacrosse Academy for more advanced players, both programs will be available for boys and girls. In addition to Play Fast and NXT Lacrosse Academy, Intro to Box and Box Academy will be introduced to youth players interested in learning more about the indoor game.
PLAY FAST
Play Fast, a four-week program, is geared toward 7-14-year-olds who want to fine-tune their skills and elevate their game. NXT’s professional, high-level coaches work directly with players through a carefully-designed curriculum to challenge all skill levels. Players go through four 90-minute weekly sessions of fast-paced, high-energy drills, short lines and lots of small-sided games!
Boys and girls Play Fast training run simultaneously at Main Line Sports Center in Berwyn and offer 3 sessions this winter in January and February.
Session I: January 4 – 25, Saturdays. 10:00 – 11:30 AM
Session II: February 7 – 28, Fridays. 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Session III: February 8 – 29, Saturdays. 10:00 – 11:30 AM

NXT LACROSSE ACADEMY
The NXT Lacrosse Academy (NLA) is an elite winter training for high-performing lacrosse players driven to take their game even higher. The program matches a player’s intensity with small-group, position-based instruction built on Division I training curriculum. This isn’t time to run through the motions in your average drill. The goal is measurable improvement and we’re looking for the area’s most talented and intense players who are committed to getting to the next level.
College coaches who are confirmed for the Girls NLA include Wagner, Syracuse, Princeton, Temple, Penn State, Ohio State, James Madison, Penn, William & Mary, Columbia, and Drexel. Girls NLA will have two, 3-week sessions at Main Line Sports Center lasting 2.5 hours each.
Girls Session I: January 4 – 18, Saturdays. 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Girls Session II: January 25 – February 8, Saturdays. 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Confirmed college coaches for Boys NXT Lacrosse Academy include University of Delaware, Neumann, Cabrini, Hartford and Temple. Boys NLA will follow a new format for the winter offering training every other week beginning January 12th to allow athletes to participate in other winter commitments. There will also be a committed program for the 2020 and 2021 classes that will coincide with the high school training.
Starting January 12. Saturdays. Middle School: 1 – 3 PM, High School & Committed: 3- 5 PM

NEW TO 2020 – BOX TRAINING!
NXT BOX ACADEMY
The NXT Box Academy program is designed to introduce & educate elementary school and middle school players to the benefits of playing indoor lacrosse. Players will learn to execute the 2 man game, will demonstrate more efficient stick skills, learn to excel in tight spaces, to be more creative without the ball, and box will challenge all players to be a more complete player. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of American box players. The professional box game is growing 2 to 3 times as fast as the field game. The world-class coaching staff is comprised of Coach Peter Lawrence, Brett Manney, Tony Resch, Bill Leahy, Marty Kupprion, and Scott Johnson. The NXT Box Academy is open to players from any club team ages 7-14 and will be held on Mondays from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Steelyard Sports Complex beginning January 6th.

INTRO TO BOX
The NXT Girls Intro to Box program serves as a jumping-off point for the player who is excited about box, but hasn’t had access to a training program! NXT Intro to Box program is designed to educate and serve those curious players who want to improve their skills by playing indoors, and gain the opportunity to learn from some of the best box lacrosse coaches in the world! Join Coach Ginny Capicchioni, the first woman in North America to sign with a men’s professional team and play professionally with the men’s NJ Storm. Capicchioni was also the first American-born keeper to play in a Canadian Lacrosse Championship, a USA World Team member, and 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. Sacred Heart University, three-time Northeast Conference Goalie of the Year Twice ranked in the NCAA’s Top 10 ins Save Percentage. She holds the program records for saves, goals-against average, and career wins. Former Assistant Coach, University of Pennsylvania, Louisville among others. Coach Capicchioni will be joined by other NXT LC girls coaches as well as prominent NXT LC Boys coaches including, Peter Lawrence, Tony Resch, and Bill Leahy. Intro to Box is open to girls in the 2023 – 2027 grad years and will be held on January 10th and 17th from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at Steelyard Sports in King of Prussia.
