Philly men named to MAC Commonwealth Team: Widener’s Heisman (B. Shanahan) is Rookie of Year

Four members of the Widener University men’s lacrosse team received All-Conference honors as announced by the league office. Connor Heisman (Bishop Shanahan), Paz Gismondi (West Deptford), Bryan Facciani, and Robbie Johnston (Wilmington Charter) were all selected to the Second Team. The Pride took home one major award with Heisman being named the All-MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year.

Heisman turned in a terrific freshman campaign. The attackman accumulated 54 points with 44 goals and 10 assists. He is the seventh leading scorer in the conference. The West Chester, Pa. native has scooped 26 groundballs and caused six turnovers.

Arcadia head coach James Purpura was named MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year.

The All-MAC Commonwealth Men’s Lacrosse Team is nominated and voted on by the nine conference men’s lacrosse coaches.
