Moorestown advances to TOC finals with 11-10 win over Ridgewood

Logan Lillie made a key stop in the final minute as one of her seven saves to preserve Moorestown’s 11-10 win over Ridgewood Wednesday in the New Jersey Tournament of Champions semifinal at Middletown South.

Moorestown (19-4), the defending TOC champion and Group 3 winner, plays top-seeded and Group 1 cha,p Oak Knoll in the final on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Kean University. Oak Knoll blitzed Haddonfield, 19-9.

Sophia McHugh scored the go-ahead goal for Moorestown late in the game, breaking an 8-8 tie. She also had the next goal.

Ashley Nutt had three goals and three assists and Janey Galski added three goals for Moorestown, which used a 5-0 run to seize a 6-2 lead before allowing Ridgewood to tie it, 7-7, at halftime.

Haddonfield (19-4), the Group 2 champion, fell behind at halftime, 10-4. Caroline Beckett scored five goals for Haddonfield.
