Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings: Malvern Prep takes over No. 1 spot; Palmyra moves into Top 15

The Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings:

1.Malvern Prep (16-5) – The Friars won their second straight Inter-Ac League title when they topped former No. 1 Haverford School, 9-8, in 2OT.

2.Haverford School (17-5) – The Fords fell to Malvern Prep in the Inter-Ac League championship.

3.Academy of the New Church (20-4) – The Lions reached the semifinals of the National Prep Championships for the second straight year and had wins over Conestoga and Manheim Township.

4.Conestoga (18-3) – The Pioneers face Downingtown East tonight (6:45) in the first round of the PIAA AAA tourney at WC East.

5.Episcopal Academy (12-7) – The Churchmen fell to Malvern Prep, 10-8, in the Inter-Ac semifinals.

6.Penn Charter (10-10) – The Quakers gave Haverford School fell to Haverford School, 9-8, in the Inter-Ac semifinals.

7. Garnet Valley (17-4) – The Jaguars meet Wilson tonight (6:00) in the first round of the PIAA AAA tourney.

8.La Salle (17-5) – The Explorers face Avon Grove today (4:00) at Cardinal O’Hara in the first round of the PIAA AAA tourney.

9. Palmyra (20-2) – The Cougars edged Manheim Township, 8-7, to win the District 3 Class AAA championship and meet Mt. Lebanon tonight (7:00) in Mechanicsburg in their PIAA tourney.

10. Manheim Township (18-4) – The Blue Streaks face Springfield-Delco tonight (6:00) in the first game in defense of their PIAA AAA championship.

11.West Chester East (14-3) – The Vikings won their first Ches-Mont League championship since 2005, but were eliminated from the District 1 tournament in the second round.

12.Bishop Shanahan (18-1) – The District 1 champion Eagles meet Scranton Prep today (4:00) at Harriton in the first round of the PIAA AA tourney.

13. Radnor (16-6) – The Raiders meet Hempfield today (4 p.m.) in the PIAA tourney at Penncrest.

14. Springfield-Delco (18-4) – The Cougars face defending PIAA AAA champion Manheim Township tonight at Exeter at 6 p.m. on the first round of the state tourney.

15. (tie)Avon Grove (14-5) – The Devils face La Salle today (4 p.m.) at Cardinal O’Hara in the first round of the PIAA AAA tourney. 15.(tie) Emmaus (15-7) – The Hornets stunned previously undefeated Parkland, 7-6, in OT to win the District 11 championship and lone district PIAA berth. They face St. Joseph’s Prep tonight (6:00) in the PIAA tourney at Northampton. 15(tie) Hempfield (16-5) – The Black Knights meet Radnor today (4 p.m.) in the first round of the PIAA AAA tourney at Penncrest.

Under Consideration: Cape Henlopen-DE (15-2), Downingtown East (11-12), Ocean City-NJ (19-2), Parkland (20-1), Salesianum School (10-7), Southern Lehigh (14-5), Upper Dublin (12-9).
