After recording 15 points to lead the Hawks to a 2-0 weekend on Sweeney Field, Saint Joseph’s women’s lacrosse senior attacker Francesca Donato has been selected the Atlantic 10’s Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. The honor marks the third of Donato’s career.
In Saint Joseph’s 15-8 home win over George Washington on Friday, the senior went for six points on four goals and two assists. She followed up with nine points on six goals and three helpers, as well as three ground balls, in the Hawks’ 19-12 home win over Davidson on Sunday.
Also against Davidson, Donato broke SJU’s single-season program record for assists and now owns 36 for the season. The attacker leads the A-10 in total points (71), points per game (5.07), total assists, and assists per game (2.57).
Donato and the Hawks (9-5, 5-1 A-10) return to action at George Mason (9-5, 5-1 A-10) this Friday, April 12. Opening draw control at George Mason Stadium down in Fairfax, Va. is set for 4:00 p.m.
