From Press Release

Recent Cabrini All-American Jordan Krug (Cherokee) was selected by the Philadelphia Wings in the fifth round on last week’s National League Lacrosse Draft. The Cabrini graduate was one of seven players the Wings drafted on Tuesday.

“The entire Cabrini lacrosse program is super excited that Jordan was drafted into the NLL by his hometown team, the Philadelphia Wings,” said Cabrini Head Coach Steve Colfer. “It is the culmination of all his hard work and dedication over the last four years that has put him into this position.

“He had an unbelievable career at Cabrini and we are anxious to support him as he begins his professional lacrosse career. Go Cavs!”

Krug posted one of the most prolific scoring season in program history, while moving to the top of the Blue and White’s all-time points list. His efforts this year helped Cabrini to its first NCAA team championship in school history.

The senior became just the second player in program history to record 100 points in a season, as his 113 points on the season are second most in a single season in program history, while his 73 goals are tied for the program’s single season record.

Krug tallied at least three goals in 15 of his 23 games played in 2019, including six games with at least five goals. The attackman notched at least five points on 14 occasions, including 10 of Cabrini’s final 11 games.

Krug closed his career with 355 career points, breaking Casey Grugan’s previous mark of 334 (2007-10). Entering the 2019 season, only 12 players in the history of Division III and 21 players across Divisions I, II and III had reached the 350 career point plateau.

The Marlton, NJ native filled his award shelf during his career in the Blue and White. A three-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American, Krug was named 2019 National Offensive Player of the Year.

A four-time First Team all-conference performer, Krug added conference Player of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019 to his 2017 CSAC Rookie of the Year accolade. Krug also collected 17 conference, regional and national player of the week awards during his career.

Introduced in September 2017, the Philadelphia Wings completed their inaugural season in April with a 4-14 record. The 2019-20 season is scheduled to begin on Dec. 14, as the Wings visit the Georgie Swarm.
