This is one of a series of Philly boys’ lacrosse previews for 2019.

High School: Garnet Valley High School

League: Central League

Coach: Frank Urso 11 Years Head Coach

Last year’s record: 10-8 regular season, District 1 Champions, Final 4 States

Key returnees: Jake Morin Junior Attack – Leading scorer 2018 (84 points), Danny Bradley Senior Attack (60 Points), Mitch Lachman (50 Points) Junior Attack, Hunter Baar Senior Midfield (30 Points), Aidan Berry Senior Defense, Sam Morin Sophomore Defense, Bishop Barnes Sophomore Midfield (22 Points), Adam Oldrati Senior FOGO.

Others to watch: Max Busenkell Freshman Midfield, Bryce Stansfield Junior Midfield (16 Points LY).

Coach’s outlook for 2019 season: “We return 8 of our top 9 scorers from last years District One Championship team, however, you learn fast that every season is different and you must earn everything you achieve. We have a great group returning and we add some key pieces hopefully we can get off to a good start and get better as the year moves along.”

High School: Conestoga High School

League: Central

Coach: Brody Bush, 5th year as Head Coach

Last year’s record: 19-6, (Central League Champions, District 1 runner up, PIAA AAA state semifinalist)

Coach’s outlook for 2019 season: “We are going to be a younger team this season with a lot of upside and great depth on the defensive side of the ball. If our new and young players are able to adjust well and we learn to play as a team I hope to be very competitive with everyone on our difficult schedule.”
