York College senior midfielder Ryan Cook (Avon Grove, HEADstrong LC, Black Bear) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 25.
Cook had a career day in the Spartans’ 15-6 win over #7 Salisbury in York’s lone game for the week. York is 10-1 and ranked No. 2 in Division III.
Cook notched a career-high five points as he tallied three goals and had a pair of assists. He scored his three goals on just three shots. Cook also picked up a pair of ground balls in the win.
Cook opened the scoring with an unassisted tally 3:36 into the second quarter. His next goal tied the game at four and he drew a two-minute penalty against the Gulls, leading to three man-up goals during the penalty. Cook picked up his first assist on the third goal of the spurt. He dished out his second assist on the man up goal to start the fourth quarter. He closed out his scoring with a goal midway through the fourth quarter.
For the year, Cook has 25 points on 8 goals and 17 assists.
